Day fifty-four: Neither Angels nor Demons

I love having Discipleship lunch every Monday. It's just a nice break from life and such. Today, we talked about Romans 1-8, because that's what we were supposed to read over the past two weeks. There was one particular verse that spoke to me today. It's one of my all time favorites, actually. It's just so powerful and it makes me feel like I'm never alone. I don't know. I just love it. So I decided to write it awesomely on my mirror like I do all words that make me happy. So here you go.

If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31

Day fifty-three: Waterworks

Yet another video that needs no words on my part. Videos like these are always so touching. It came out of nowhere. I was just watching the AMAs, laughing at how amazing Taylor Swift is, and then this commercial came on. At first, I wasn't sure where it was going, but then, at the end, it was like BAM! Waterworks. It was quite amazing. Sometimes, even though I hate walmart, I have to love them. XD

There's nothing half so pleasant as coming home again.

Day fifty-two: We may be weird, but we're the coolest

Today was the last home game of the year. I've missed a few home games, but overall, my first semester in the MOB has been wonderful. I met two of the best friends ever, and I've had lots of fun. The UT game was my favorite, though. We were all squished into a tiny section, but we screamed and cheered and had a grand old time. The UH game was also fun. We got to dress as zombies and even though it rained, it was wonderful. And the losing wasn't too bad. XD

My favorite part of the game is when we pull out the big green sign. You'll just have to watch for yourself. (Watch between 2:06 and 3:03)

Day fifty-one: Just So Bad

Breaking Dawn was horrible.

"Then why would you make a post about it?" you all wonder. Well, I shall tell you.

It's amusing, and I ended up having a great time. My roommate, Katri, and I made shirts to wear (which we never got a picture of...sad day). On the front, it said "Team guy who almost killed Bella with his car" and on the back it said "Jingle Bells, Edward smells, Jacob is okay, Bella yucks, Twilight sucks, POTTER ALL THE WAY (long live Cedric Diggory)." XD The first hour of the movie was SO FUNNY! I laughed my butt off. The second hour was horrible and hard to get through, but at least I had a great time. Even though they had no intention of making that movie humorous in any way, I'm glad that it was, because it provided an hour of stress relief from my life. :)

The most thoroughly wasted of all days is that on which one has not laughed.

Day fifty: Discovery

Today, I got to play with real human skeletons.

Actually, it was mainly just skulls, but it was so cool! I had to do a lab for my physical anthropology class. We learned how to identify a person based on markers on their skulls and pelvises, and in the lab, that's what we had to do. I spent two hours observing and analyzing four skulls and three pelvises. I had to give sex, age, and ancestry. I felt like Dr. Brennan. :)

The coolest thing during the lab was the station where I had to determine the age of a child. While it was a little sad I was holding an actual child's skull, looking at the teeth was really neat. If you looked at the jaw, you could see the permanent teeth starting to come in on the front and you could see the second molars forming in the back of the jaw. It wasn't a full grown tooth; it was still developing. I think it's amazing that we can look at bones and be able to tell who people were and what they did. There's a great scene between Bones and Angela in the pilot of the show Bones that kind of captures the essence of what I'm saying. Lemme see if I can find a youtube video. :D

...okay, so I can't find one. And I was just gonna video it myself, but my sound on my computer crapped out again. Bah. Oh well. Maybe I'll put it up eventually. :D

Bah. And I can't even find the quote I'm looking for either. Fail. This is just a fail. Oh well...

Day forty-nine: Affirmation

This is one of those times where words aren't really necessary. Basically, I was super stressing out about my paper, my school life, my social life, etc, etc, and I just really needed to get my priorities straight. So I watched this video, and everything was better. :D

It's the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.

Day forty-eight: Enchanted

I know, enough with the Taylor Swift stuff. But I can't help it. You know when a song just connects with you because it's totally relevant to your life? Well, that's what happened today. So I'm just going to leave the lyrics and leave you all wondering. :)

There I was again tonight
Forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired, lonely place

Walls of insincerity

Shifting eyes and vacancy
Vanished when I saw your face

All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you

Your eyes whispered "Have we met?"

Across the room your silhouette
Starts to make its way to me
The playful conversation starts
Counter all your quick remarks
Like passing notes in secrecy

And it was enchanting to meet you

All I can say is I was enchanted to meet you

This night is sparkling, don't you let it go

I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you

The lingering question kept me up

2 AM, who do you love?
I wonder 'til I'm wide awake
And now I'm pacing back and forth
Wishing you were at my door
I'd open up and you would say
It was enchanting to meet you
All I know is I was enchanted to meet you

This night is sparkling, don't you let it go

I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
This night is flawless, don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you

This is me praying that

This was the very first page
Not where the story line ends
My thoughts will echo your name
Until I see you again
These are the words I held back
As I was leaving too soon
I was enchanted to meet you

Please don't be in love with someone else

Please don't have somebody waiting on you

Please don't be in love with someone else

Please don't have somebody waiting on you
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go
I'm wonder-struck, blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
This night is flawless, don't you let it go
I'm wonder-struck, dancing around all alone
I'll spend forever wondering if you know
I was enchanted to meet you

Please don't be in love with someone else

Please don't have somebody waiting on you
